"As a signer to this petition and as a taxpayer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
I believe that the arts are critical to the well-being of all citizens. I fully support the position that the state budget absolutely must include a minimum of $14 million for fiscal year 2009-10."

The PA Council on the Arts (PCA) is one of the premiere state cultural agencies in the country. Their funding programs reach every county and every citizen in the commonwealth. The money which is invested in enriching the cultural life of Pennsylvania's citizens comes back tenfold in generated tax revenues for the state.
When people are off of their couches, participating in their local communities and local economies, good things happen!
More good news to share!
The State PTA has a call to action on their website and they sent an email to their 87,000 members in support of arts funding in PA. The PTA knows that $2,000,000 of the PCA budget last year went out to create artist residencies serving students all across the state. This was more money benefiting students from any state agency except the Department of Education.
