PoconoArts will host a lecture with Betsy Kelly Green, Manager of Lizza Studios, imaging experts, located in Tunkhannock , PA on March 20, 2012 at 6pm.

Lizza Studios is one of the first in the world to have acquired and mastered the Cruse CS285ST Fine Art Scanner, the highest resolution scanner in the world. Of course, reproducing artwork with the accuracy allowed by the Cruse Scanner would not mean much without the cornerstone of the Giclee Process – using the best inkjet printing system on the market along with the best color management system in place.

This ongoing workshop focuses on the individual, helping them to develop their own personal style and technique working with the oil medium. Learn how to develop your painting by understanding drawing and composition, light and shadow, color, preparation of materials and the application of paint. Working at your own pace, you pick your subject while the instructor guides you through the painting process.

Instructor: John McAllister is a graduate of York Academy of Arts and works as a freelance artist and videographer.

This class will focus on increasing fundamental painting skills, including composition, use of value and color, a basic understanding of the Color Wheel and how to achieve desired effects using acrylic paints. Students may utilize Photographs, reproductions of other paintings or set up their own still life.

Instructor: Will Daskal simply loves to paint and to teach others. His work is shown at ARTSPACE Gallery and he has had many solo shows throughout the Pocono area. He studied with William Wentz and Dana Van Horn at the Baum School of Art in Allentown and also with Don Andrews, Tom Lynch and Ron Ransom.

Your wlll learn to use your innate, fundamental drawing skills to sketch out a pleasing composition, which will be the basis for your painting. Learn to develop simple techniques that will result in exciting ways to express your artistic ideas.

Going with the philosophy that children learn through play, this workshop will explore and play with all different types of media…such as watercolor, collage, mixed media allowing children to find an outlet that they enjoy to continue creating at home.

Instructor: Samantha Cuff attended East Stroudsburg University and Fairleigh Dickinson University studying both communications and fine art. She has an abundance of creative experience with children, previously working at the Baum School of Art and Devin Hill Country Day School
